Voice, characters and narrative

GENRE: Fiction & Starting to Write
-
The Hurst

This week we will explore the essential aspects of starting to write fiction – finding an authentic voice, creating rich characters and developing plot. You will look at what makes a narrative voice compelling for readers; how voice can help to build character, drive plot and produce dramatic tension, and how dialogue can be made genuine and purposeful. You will also consider what your story is about in terms of the underlying ethical message(s) of your narrative and how to approach the moral progression of your characters.
