Charlene James

Charlene James’ award-winning play Cuttin’ It opened at the National Theatre, later transferring to the Royal Court Theatre and the Young Vic to considerable critical acclaim. It was adapted for BBC Radio 4 and aired as Drama of the week.  Her original short monologue, System/Cycle was part of The Break series for BBC.

She trained as an actress at Birmingham School of Acting and at The School at Steppenwolf, Chicago. She was writer in residence at Birmingham REP for their season focusing on mental health and wrote for the Young Theatre Makers which premiered at the Birmingham REP before touring.
