Wyl Menmuir

Wyl Menmuir is an award-winning author based in Cornwall. His debut novel The Many was nominated for the Man Booker Prize and was an Observer Best Fiction of the year pick. His second, Fox Fires, was described as ’the work of a fertile and powerful imagination’ by Jim Crace. Wyl’s first full-length non-fiction book, The Draw of the Sea, won the Roger Deakin Award from the Society of Authors and was published in July 2022. Wyl’s short fiction has appeared in Best British Short Stories and has been published, among others, by Nightjar Press and the National Trust. He is co-creator of Cornish writing centre The Writers’ Block and lectures in creative writing at Falmouth University.
