Arvon Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that are placed on to your computer by websites that you visit. They are used to make websites work, to improve efficiency of websites, to improve the user’s experience and to provide usage information on websites. This information should make your website visits more productive by storing and using information on your website preferences and habits.

Your web browser can choose whether or not to accept cookies. Most web browser software is initially set up to accept them.

We may offer cookies to you and you should ensure that your web browser is set up to not accept cookies if you do not wish to receive them. Please note that if you disable cookies, some services or website functionality may not be available.  We use the following cookies:

  • Essential cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into membership areas of our website, register for an account, log in to manage your account and book and pay for a course.
  • Analytical cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around our website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily. We use Google Analytics for this.
  • Advertising cookies. These  learn whether someone who saw an Arvon advert posted online but outside Arvon’s website (eg on Facebook, Twitter or Google’s advertising platform) later visited our site and took an action (e.g. booked on a course).
  • Marketing cookies. We use cookie to add ‘live chat’ to our website.

By continuing to use this site, you are accepting our use of these cookies that make advertising and communications more relevant to you and your interests, and further help us to improve the site.

How to control your cookies

There are various ways that you can control and manage your cookies which are discussed in a bit more detail below. Please remember that any settings you change will not just affect Arvon cookies. These changes will apply to all websites that you visit (unless you choose to block cookies from particular sites). The settings you change will also only apply to the device on which you change them and will not apply across all your devices. If you want to opt out of cookies on all your devices, you will need to change the settings on all your devices individually.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most modern browsers will allow you to:

  • See what cookies you’ve got and delete them on an individual basis.
  • Block third party cookies.
  • Block all cookies from being set.
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser.

If you block cookies completely, many websites will not work properly and some functionality on these websites will not work at all. We do not recommend turning cookies off when using our services for these reasons.

The links below take you to the ‘Help’ sections for each of the major browsers so that you can find out more about how to manage your cookies.
