Looking at your work in depth

GENRE: Fiction
-
Totleigh Barton

Whether you’re trying to edit short stories or a novel, this course will help you edit your own work and understand how the editing process works once you’ve found a publisher. The week is led by an author and an editor, who will share perspectives on the editing process from both sides of the coin and help you get the most out of feedback, balance creative and commercial concerns, and demystify the editing process. Come prepared to look at your work afresh – from its opening sentence to the last full stop – and we’ll help you improve its chances of publication. Bring a polished 2,000-word extract (preferably the start) and a 300-word synopsis.

Single room price: £770
Shared room price: £720
