A practical guide to badly behaved poems

GENRE: Poetry
Totleigh Barton

Too many poems behave like we expect poems to behave. If you have ideas you’ve always worried don’t quite belong in a poem, this is the time to unleash them. If you want to write poems that don’t look like poems, this course is your chance. We’ll explore translation, both literal and metaphorical; forms and anti-forms; the surprising and unsayable. Alongside your tutors you’ll investigate strategies, techniques and tactics to take your poetry in a new direction and finish the week with your notebook overflowing with drafts and finished poems.
