What we mean when we talk about voice

GENRE: Fiction, Starting to Write & Winter Warmers
Totleigh Barton

‘Voice’ often seems an intangible, mysterious measure, yet it’s arguably the most vital element to any piece of fiction. Do you have a voice as a writer? Yes! Only you may just not have found it yet. We’ll explore ways of taking life experience, memory, and ‘what if’ scenarios as starting points for arresting fiction. We’ll look at elements of craft – structure, dialogue, character – and how to best employ them in telling your stories. Above all, we’ll teach you to trust, develop, and take pleasure in your own voice.

Grants are not available for Winter Warmer courses.
