Some of the best loved songs out there are ones that fire up our hearts and imaginations by telling stories. With a few simple exercises, you can learn how to look out into the world around you for inspiration, and find the interesting story behind the ordinary-seeming thing. We will look at the structure of a song, write a chorus and verses and consider different ways to create momentum.
We will also discuss how music and beats can help drive your song along, and think about a few finishing touches too.
You don’t need to be able to play an instrument to join in with this workshop and you don’t need to be a great singer. If you can tell a story… you can write a song!
This video is roughly 50 minutes long, including time to write.
