We were greatly saddened to hear of the death of the poet and novelist Michael Baldwin, a wonderful friend to Arvon. Michael played a vital role in Arvon’s early years, as a committee chairman, fundraiser, and tutor of many Arvon weeks. Alan Brownjohn, who worked alongside Michael to support Arvon, said “Baldwin’s energy, zeal, tact and gift for friendship made him an invaluable Arvon committee chairman and fundraiser, as well as an indefatigable course tutor”. Our thoughts and wishes go out to his family.
