The Hurst, The John Osborne Arvon Centre, Clunton:

Open Gardens May 13th 2-5pm

Arvon is 50 this year! To celebrate, we are opening our gardens in partnership with The Shropshire Historic Churches Trust – and our doors, offering refreshments, free activities and exhibitions. Come and see the former home of playwright John Osborne and find out what we do here at The Hurst:

  • Bring the kids, and let them enjoy a poetry and nature walk with county ecologist Dan Wrench and poet Jean Atkin
  • Join a ‘taster’ workshop with renowned local author, Manda Scott
  • Get advice on self-publishing from writer and life coach, Gabriela Blandy
  • View John Osborne memorabilia in his former study
  • View artworks for sale forming part of the Ludlow Open Arts Festival curated by Joanna King

Entry £5 to Shropshire Historic Churches Trust. Children go free.

Join us between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday May 13th. Places on workshop sessions are limited; please call 01588 640658 or email thehurst@arvon.org to reserve one.
