Farhana Shaikh

Farhana is a writer and publisher born in Leicester. She is the editor of The Asian Writer and Present Tense Literary Magazine and runs small independent press, Dahlia Books. In 2017, she won the inaugural Travelex / Penguin Next Great Travel Writer Competition and was long-listed for the 2018 Spread the Word Life Writing Prize. Present Tense is a literary magazine of new writing that publishes poetry, flash fiction, short stories, and creative non-fiction with a strong sense of place. Present Tense is published biannually in print; a selection of pieces also appear online.
