Jamie Hale

Jamie Hale is a poet, performer, and multidisciplinary creative. Their work explores interrelationships between criphood, queerness, mortality, nature, and the embodied self. Their first pamphlet, Shield, was published by Verve in Jan 2021, and they have had work published in the Rialto, Magma etc. They took second prize in the 2021 Yale-UCL poetry prize, were a winner in the London Writers’ Awards for poetry, and won the Evening Standard Future Theatre-makers Awards 2021 in the director / theatre-maker category. Their poetry show, NOT DYING, sold out the Barbican in 2019 as part of their disability arts showcase CRIPtic, which they will direct at the Barbican in 2021.
