Jasbinder Bilan was born in a stable in the foothills of The Himalayas. Her debut, Asha and the Spirit Bird, won the prestigious Costa Book Award and her second novel, Tamarind and the Star of Ishta, won the Indie Book Awards 2021. She has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Prize and nominated for The Carnegie. Jasbinder has published seven books; the latest, Nush and the Stolen Emerald, is a historical adventure set in 1800s India and Buckingham Palace.
