John Simmons

John Simmons was a director of identity consultancy Newell and Sorrell and then of Interbrand where he created the Verbal Identity discipline. He has worked on brands small and large, local and international, helping them to understand better what makes them different and to express that difference in words. For the last 20 years he has been working independently and writing books on effective writing, including We, Me, Them & It, The Invisible Grail and Dark Angels. Through the ‘Dark Angels’ writing programme he runs workshops in interesting places internationally – and over the last two years on Zoom. He’s a published novelist and poet, and he might well advise you to do the same – not least because it will improve your copywriting skills.
