Jonathan Lorie

Jonathan Lorie is Britain’s most experienced travel writing tutor. He has taught travel writing at courses in Paris, Marrakech, Istanbul, Seville and St Ives. His book, The Travel Writer’s Way, has been described by William Dalrymple as ‘A unique and completely invaluable guide to the dark arts of travel writing’. He writes travel for UK national newspapers and magazines and was the Editor of Traveller magazine. Jonathan has been a judge for the Dolmen Travel Book of the Year, the Thomas Cook Travel Book Award, the Stanford/Bradt New Travel Writer of the Year award, and the annual competitions of The Independent, the British Guild of Travel Writers and the New Zealand travel writers’ association.
