Julia Armfield

Julia Armfield is a fiction writer. Her debut short story collection salt slow was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year award in 2019, and longlisted for the Polari prize in 2020. She was commended in the Moth Short Story Prize 2017, longlisted for the Deborah Rogers Award 2018, and won the prestigious White Review Short Story Prize 2018. Her first novel Our Wives Under the Sea was released by Picador in 2022 and was shortlisted for the Foyles Fiction Book of the Year award. Julia’s second novel, Private Rites, will be published by 4th Estate in 2024.
