Pragya Agarwal

Dr. Pragya Agarwal is a scientist, scholar and writer. She is the author of four widely acclaimed non-fiction books, Sway: Unravelling Unconscious Bias (a Guardian Book of the Week); Wish We Knew What to Say: Talking with Children about Race; (M)otherhood: On the choices of being a woman (nominated as one of best memoirs of 2021); and Hysterical: Exploding the myth of gendered emotions (one of best smart thinking books of 2022). Her writing regularly appears in Prospect, the Guardian, the New Scientist, Scientific American and the Independent, as well as in literary magazines such as Florida Review, Literary Hub, Extra Teeth and AEON. Pragya is a visiting professor of social inequities at Loughborough, Sassoon fellow in South Asian and Black History at Oxford, and a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at Cambridge.

She is currently writing her next book for The Bodley Head, due out in 2025.
