Samanth Subramanian’s journalism has appeared in the Guardian Long Read, the New Yorker, the New York Times Magazine, WIRED, and Harper’s. His last book, A Dominant Character: The Radical Science and Restless Politics of JBS Haldane, was named one of the New York Times 100 Best Books of 2020 and one of the Wall Street Journal’s Top Ten Books the same year. His new book, The Web Beneath the Waves, about the battle to lay and control undersea data cables, will be published in October 2025.
