Victoria MacKenzie

Victoria MacKenzie is a fiction writer and poet based in Scotland. Her debut novel, For Thy Great Pain Have Mercy On My Little Pain (Bloomsbury, 2023), explored the lives of the medieval mystics Julian of Norwich and Margery Kempe. She has won a number of writing prizes including a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award, and she’s held residencies at Cove Park, Hawthornden Castle, Varuna in Australia and Saari Manor in Finland. Her second novel, Brantwood, about the Victorian art critic John Ruskin, will be published by Bloomsbury in 2025.
