Arvon at Home: Family Live Guest Reading

Reading and Q&A from Michael Morpurgo via Zoom

Wednesday July 1st 2020, 7:15pm BST

Now more than ever people young and old need stories – to engage, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. And so as part of our Arvon at Home programme we are bringing you special Live Guest Readings for Families. Some of our most popular writers for readers of all ages will be reading their stories live and answering your questions (these can be emailed in advance or sent via the Zoom chat box during the event).

This Live Guest Reading is with Michael Morpurgo on Wednesday 1 July at 7:15 pm BST. It is suitable for both adults and children – we would suggest from the age of 8 and above. Michael Morpurgo is the former Children’s Laureate and is a bestselling author of over 150 books, including War Horse, which celebrated its tenth year as an award-winning National Theatre production. Michael received a Knighthood in 2018.

The reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom. This is a live event and will not be recorded.

We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).

Cost: £5.00

Very lovely. It had an intimate feeling despite it being a Zoom event and all of us being in different places.

"Thanks for an excellent session last night. It worked very well on Zoom, especially with the Q&A using the chat function."

"What a brilliant reading. It was intimate and moving and very listener friendly. I loved it and will be back for more."
