Arvon at Home: Live Guest Reading

Reading and Q&A from Adam Buxton via Zoom

Friday August 28th 2020, 7:15pm BST

Now more than ever we need stories – to engage, to distract, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. And so while you can’t come to us, instead we will come to you, bringing a taste of Arvon into your home one night a week. Every Wednesday evening an Arvon tutor will join us as a guest, to read from their own work and answer your questions live and in person online.

This Live Guest Reading is with Adam Buxton on Friday 28 August at 7:15 pm BST. Adam Buxton is a British comedian, podcaster, actor and director. In addition to his solo film and TV career (films such as Hot FuzzStardust and Son Of Rambow), since 1995 he has worked alongside his lifelong friend, the director Joe Cornish, as one half of TV, radio and podcast duo Adam & Joe. He is the host of BUG, a live show featuring music videos and original comedy, and the award-winning Adam Buxton Podcast, in which celebrity interviews are bookended with walks in the Norfolk countryside where he lives with his wife, 3 children and dog. Adam Buxton’s memoir Ramble Book: Musings on Childhood, Friendship, Family and 80s Pop Culture was recently released as an audio book, recorded during lockdown; the hardback will be released in September. The reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom. This is a live event and will not be recorded.

We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).

Cost: £5.00

Very lovely. It had an intimate feeling despite it being a Zoom event and all of us being in different places.

"Thanks for an excellent session last night. It worked very well on Zoom, especially with the Q&A using the chat function."

"What a brilliant reading. It was intimate and moving and very listener friendly. I loved it and will be back for more."
