Arvon at Home: Live Guest Reading

Reading and Q&A from Gabriel Gbadamosi via Zoom

Wednesday November 11th 2020, 7:15pm GMT

Now more than ever we need stories – to engage, to distract, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. And so while you can’t come to us, instead we will come to you, bringing a taste of Arvon into your home one night a week. Every Wednesday evening an Arvon tutor will join us as a guest, to read from their own work and answer your questions live and in person online.

This Live Guest Reading is with Gabriel Gbadamosi on Wednesday 11 November at 7:15 pm BST. Gabriel Gbadamosi is an Irish Nigerian poet, playwright, novelist and essayist. His latest play is Stop and Search (2019). His London novel Vauxhall (2013) won the Tibor Jones Pageturner Prize, Best International Novel at the Sharjah Book Fair and was runner-up for the McKitterick Prize. He is currently Editorial Chair of WritersMosaic at the Royal Literary Fund, a director of Wasafiri literary magazine and a trustee of the Arcola Theatre, London. The reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom. This is a live event and will not be recorded.

We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).

Cost: £5.00

Very lovely. It had an intimate feeling despite it being a Zoom event and all of us being in different places.

"Thanks for an excellent session last night. It worked very well on Zoom, especially with the Q&A using the chat function."

"What a brilliant reading. It was intimate and moving and very listener friendly. I loved it and will be back for more."
