Arvon at Home: Live Guest Reading

Reading and Q&A with Woodrow Phoenix via Zoom

Wednesday March 23rd 2022, 19:15 GMT

Online

Now more than ever we need stories – to engage, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. Our Live Guest Readings bring a taste of Arvon into your home one night a week. Every week an Arvon tutor will join us as a guest to read from their own work live and in person.

And the best part?

At the end you get to ask them questions about their words, pick their brains on craft, and learn more about the business of writing!

This Live Guest Reading is with Woodrow Phoenix on Wednesday 23 March at 19:15 GMT

Woodrow Phoenix writes and draws in London and Cambridge. His award-winning work has appeared in national newspapers, magazines and books across the UK, Europe, the USA and Japan, and in television projects for Walt Disney and Cartoon Network. Rumble Strip (Myriad Editions, 2008), was reviewed in The Times as ‘One utterly original work of genius. It should be made mandatory reading for everyone, everywhere.’ A revised edition, Crash Course, was published in the USA last year. His latest book for children, Donny Digits: Heroes, Heists and Hot Dogs, was published in 2021.

The live reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom. It will be recorded and available to view for up to a month after the event.

We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).

Cost: £5.00 (concessions £2.50)

COURSE TUTOR

Very lovely. It had an intimate feeling despite it being a Zoom event and all of us being in different places.
