Arvon at Home: Live Guest Reading

Reading and Q&A with Sarah Crossan via Zoom

Wednesday December 1st 2021, 19:15 GMT

Online

Now more than ever we need stories – to engage, to distract, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. And so while you can’t come to us, instead we will come to you, bringing a taste of Arvon into your home one night a week. Every week an Arvon tutor will join us as a guest, to read from their own work and answer your questions live and in person online.

This Live Guest Reading is with Sarah Crossan on Wednesday 1st December at 19:15 GMT

Sarah Crossan is the multi-award-winning, go-to verse novelist in the UK. She has been awarded the CILIP Carnegie Medal as well as the YA Book Prize, the CBI Book of the Year Award, the Books Are My Bag Readers Award and the CLiPPA Poetry Award – and many more. Her work has sold over 350,000 copies and been published in 25 languages. Sarah has lived in Dublin, London and New York, and now lives in East Sussex. She graduated with a degree in philosophy and literature before training as an English and drama teacher at the University of Cambridge. Sarah was the Laureate na nÓg (Ireland’s Children’s Literature Laureate) from 2018–2020. Her debut novel for adults, Here Is the Beehive, published in paperback in July 2021, followed by Tomorrow Is Beautiful: Poems to comfort, uplift and delight this autumn.

The reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom. This is a live event and will not be recorded.

We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).

Very lovely. It had an intimate feeling despite it being a Zoom event and all of us being in different places.
