Arvon at Home: Live Guest Reading

Reading and Q&A with Chrissy Williams via Zoom

Wednesday April 20th 2022, 19:15 GMT

Now more than ever we need stories – to engage, to entertain, to nourish, and to help us make sense of what we’re living through. Our Live Guest Readings bring a taste of Arvon into your home one night a week. Every week an Arvon tutor will join us as a guest to read from their own work live and in person.

And the best part?

At the end you get to ask them questions about their words, pick their brains on craft, and learn more about the business of writing!

This Live Guest Reading is with Chrissy Williams on Wednesday 20th April at 19:15 GMT

Chrissy Williams is a poet, editor and tutor based in London. She edits the poetry magazine Perverse. Her second collection Low was published by Bloodaxe in 2021, and exemplifies her ability to find “seriousness in the apparently trivial and ephemeral” (Poetry Review).

The live reading and interactive Q&A will be hosted on Zoom. It will be recorded and available to view for up to a month after the event.

We are more committed than ever to helping writers find inspiration, and to make space for their own creativity, no matter the setting. So join us from the comfort of your sofa and listen to writers share their work, the stories behind their work, and invaluable writing advice directly from their own desk (or maybe the kitchen table).

Cost: £5.00 (concession: £2.50)

Very lovely. It had an intimate feeling despite it being a Zoom event and all of us being in different places.

"Thanks for an excellent session last night. It worked very well on Zoom, especially with the Q&A using the chat function."

"What a brilliant reading. It was intimate and moving and very listener friendly. I loved it and will be back for more."
