My Big Mouth

(recommended age: 8-11)

Join CLiPPA Award-winner Steven Camden as he reads from his brilliant first novel My Big Mouth for readers of 8 to 11, all about friendship, storytelling and the price of being cool.

When no one can give Jay the answers he needs, he makes up his own stories, setting off a chain reaction that sees regular old Jay go from just another face in the crowd, to the centre of attention.

But being the coolest kid in school comes at a cost. And as things spiral out of control, can the most unlikely person help him learn the most important lesson of all?

Find out how Steven came up with the idea for My Big Mouth, where he draws his inspiration from and get his tips for generating story ideas from nothing. You’ll also have the chance to ask Steven questions about the book and what its like to be a author.

Arvon at Home Readings for Children and Young People are a chance to connect with published writers from the comfort of your home or classroom. Hear authors read from their books, talk about what its like to be a writer and get the chance to ask your questions and hear them answered live during the event. And the best part? They’re completely free!

The event will be delivered via Zoom and will last 50 minutes. You will need to have a computer or smart device and a reliable internet connection in order to participate. This event will be live and will be recorded. Recording will be saved in the cloud and made available to those with confirmed advance bookings for a period of two weeks only. It will not be downloadable.
