Editing Fiction

Looking at your work in depth

Monday December 9th - Saturday December 14th 2019

Lumb Bank

Have you finished the first draft of a novel or short story? Now the real work begins. This course will look at how you edit your own writing and the process of working with an editor or publisher. Led by an author and an editor ready to share their perspectives from both sides of the business, this week will help you fine-tune your prose, make the most of feedback, balance creative and commercial concerns and demystify the editing process. Come prepared to look at your work anew and we’ll help you maximise its chances of publication. Bring a polished 2,000-word extract (preferably the beginning) and a 300-word synopsis.

Single room price: £795

Shared room price: £745

Grants are available to help with the course fee
