Whatever non-fiction genre you’re working in, from reportage to life-writing, history to polemic, travelogue to earth-writing, or perhaps a fusion of several, this online evening course aims for writing that is inquisitive, expressive and vibrant. You will discuss the power of writing in making sense of multiple crises – ecological, social and philosophical – and learn how to find and develop your own distinctive writing voice, forging convincing and intriguing narratives whatever your level of experience.

During playful workshops and supportive 1:1 sessions with your tutors, acclaimed non-fiction writers Lucy Jones and Jay Griffiths, you will examine a writer’s key tools and techniques, learning to structure and shape your work, while embracing mischief and wonder, and necessary subversiveness, along the way.

Do you want to commit time to your writing but can only manage a couple of hours a week? Would you like a writing boost and a network of writing buddies? Then join us for this Arvon Evening Course which unpacks our popular 5-day online writing week over 5 weeks of evening classes. Each week, your tutors will deliver a workshop designed to propel your writing forward, with one-to-one tutorials offered mid-course, alongside tutor readings and weekly socials.  You will develop a regular writing routine and come away from the course with a whole new network of contacts and companions for your writing years ahead.
