Multi-dimensional worlds are essential to good storytelling, but how can you go about crafting them? On this course lead by Jessica J Lee and Paul Scraton, you’ll explore techniques for developing a complex settings and consider the importance of voices in your non-fiction. You’ll consider how to ground your stories in vivid detail – whatever genre you may find yourself writing in – and what the ethical stakes of your storytelling might be. Over the course of the week, the tutors will use close readings across the boundaries of different genres of non-fiction to examine what these can offer your work. You’ll think about how you can integrate both your experiences and research in seamless and engaging ways, ultimately creating compelling foundations for a diverse range of non-fiction projects.
