Online Writing Day: Non-Fiction
Crafting the perfect proposal
Radio as cinema, radio as guided fantasy, radio as the voice that whispers in your ear and takes you to extraordinary worlds. Throughout this creative and informative day you’ll be exploring the particular wonders, challenges and possibilities of writing audio drama. We’ll listen to some sound clips, look at script extracts and begin the process of writing a pitch. Central to the day will be a series of practical writing activities in which you’ll consider the importance of openings, storytelling, dialogue and the uses of sound effects, music and silence. You’ll leave with fresh ideas, ways to take your work forward, and the first draft of an opening scene.
