The Hurst
Residential Writing Week: Writing for Children and Young Adults
Grabbing and holding the attention of your reader

Do you struggle to find time to write? Do you get distracted by important or urgent tasks, feel blocked, or fail to make progress with writing projects? Being a writer is about more than having a good idea – you need to start writing and keep going. You need to find time, support and the systems that keep you writing long term. Bec Evans, the author of Written: How to Keep Writing and Build a Habit That Lasts, will guide you with tried and tested approaches that will help you create a writing habit in the busyness of your life. This course is perfect for writers of any genre and level of experience.
The guest speaker for this event will be Ed Wilson, agent and director at Johnson & Alcock.
To make the event as accessible and flexible as possible, all sessions of the day are delivered live via Zoom webinar. You have the choice to attend each session live, which will mean you can contribute via the chatbox, or you can watch the recordings of each session at any time over the course of the following month. Please note, your camera and audio will not be visible/audible, allowing you to relax and take the day at your own pace.
