From imagination to industry

Monday May 27th - Saturday June 1st 2019

Lumb Bank

Great storytelling isn’t confined to the world of fiction. Whether you’re writing from real life, a how-to guide or a collection of your research, readers are looking for a page-turning read. But how best to combine hard facts with solid storytelling that will hook the reader from the get-go? How do you tackle writing about real-life characters, or use dialogue effectively? How much of your hard-earned research do you include – and which bits do you leave out? With both editorial and authorial input from us as tutors, by the end of this week you’ll have shaped a proposal, explored your storytelling world, and picked up plenty of industry secrets.
