We are inviting applications for the Stacey Halls Bursary, thanks to the generous support of writer Stacey Halls. This is open to writers aged 18-35 from a UK working-class, Northern background. The bursary will cover the full course fee for an Arvon residential at The Hurst or Totleigh Barton (Lumb Bank is undergoing redevelopment so is not currently running courses).
We ask that you choose a course running at either Writing House from January-July 2025 (subject to availability; courses are being uploaded on an ongoing basis) then submit a statement telling us about your background and why you would benefit from both the bursary and your chosen course. Available course options can be found here.
Statements should be emailed to grants@arvon.org by 9am on Tuesday 3 December and should not exceed 500 words. If travel costs would be a barrier, please email the same address to see if we can help. Receipt of the grant is conditional on providing a short report on your experience of the residential, following the course.
