Casey Bailey

Casey Bailey is a writer, performer and educator, born and raised in Nechells, Birmingham, UK. Casey is the Birmingham Poet Laureate 2020-2022. Casey’s second full poetry collection Please Do Not Touch was published by Burning Eye in 2021. His first full collection, Adjusted, was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2018. Casey’s plays GrimeBoy and Please Do Not Touch will be on stage at the Birmingham Rep and The Pleasance, London in 2022. A number of organisations have commissioned pieces from Casey, including the BBC, Symphony Hall, West Midlands Combined Authority and Birmingham City Council, and he has performed his poetry nationally and internationally. He is a fellow at the University of Worcester, and in 2021 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Education by Newman University.
