Emily Chappell

Emily Chappell is an author and long-distance cyclist. She cut her teeth working as a cycle courier in London, before seeking ever tougher challenges: she has cycled across Asia, Iceland and North America, as well as winning the 4,000km Transcontinental Race across Europe, and the fearsome Strathpuffer 24-hour race, commonly agreed to be one of the world’s toughest mountain bike events.

As well as being a popular speaker, presenter, and advocate for inclusivity in cycling, Emily is the Lead Cyclist for Le Loop – a charity adventure where amateur cyclists tackle every single stage of the Tour de France, a week before the race itself.

Her first book, What Goes Around, was published by Faber, and her writing has appeared in the Guardian, the IndependentVogue and National Geographic. Her second book, Where There’s a Will, was published in 2019.
