Writing on Nature and Human Nature
Peter Fiennes is the author of three books: To War with God: the Army Chaplain who Lost his Faith, the story of his grandfather’s time on the Western Front; Oak and Ash and Thorn: the Ancient Woods and New Forests of Britain, a Guardian Nature Book of the Year; and Footnotes: a Journey Round Britain in the Company of Great Writers, a Guardian Travel Book of the Year, also shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Memoir of the Year. For many years he was the publisher at Time Out, where he wrote, edited and ran their travel guides and other books. Right now, he is finding ecological resonances in the Greek myths.
