Sarah Rutherford

Sarah Rutherford is a Scottish-born, London-based screenwriter and playwright, currently working on a single TV drama commissioned by World Productions for the BBC, and on an original series with Red Production Company. Her most recent stage play, conceived on a retreat at The Hurst, was The Girl Who Fell at the Trafalgar Theatre. She was the inaugural Writer in Residence at Park Theatre, where her play Adult Supervision was nominated Best Off-West End Production (WhatsOnStage Awards). Her work is published by Methuen. Previously, Sarah completed a PhD at Edinburgh University on Black Farce in Jacobean and 1960s Theatre while working as a freelance journalist and broadcaster. She then trained at Guildford School of Acting and worked as an actor for several years before becoming a writer.
