Stephanie Phillips

Stephanie Phillips is a Midlands-based arts & culture journalist and the author of the non-fiction book Why Solange Matters. Her work has been featured in the Guardian, the Independent, Kinfolk, GQ, Crack magazine, New Statesman, The Wire, The Quietus, VICE, and more. She is the recipient of the Music Journalist of the Year 2021 award at the International Music Journalism Awards. She is also the singer and guitarist in the Black feminist punk band Big Joanie and is part of the organising collective behind Decolonise Fest, a London-based annual event celebrating the work of people of colour in the punk scene.
