Lemn Sissay
Lemn Sissay is a poet, playwright and author. He came to Lumb Bank on an Arvon course aged 17 and by 21 he’d published his first book of poems. Since then he’s published 10 books and written several plays. His Landmark poems can be found on the walls of hospitals, libraries, pubs and train stations and his memoir My Name is Why became a Sunday Times bestseller in 2019 as did his 2023 poetry collection, Let the Light Pour In. He was awarded an MBE in 2010 and an OBE in 2021 for services to literature and charity.
