Online Writing Week: Poetry
Poetry and its Hinterland
“I stood at the border, stood at the edge and claimed it as central. l claimed it as central, and let the rest of the world move over to where I was.”
– Toni Morrison
Do you feel that you are standing ‘at the border’, wanting to find an audience for your work, but that traditional publishing routes aren’t accessible for you? Would you like to explore the uniqueness of your own poetic voice, but aren’t sure what fires you up creatively, or what makes your voice yours? Are you curious about the role that digital platforms might have in answering those questions? During this creative and supportive session you will explore what it means to be a poet in the 21st century, helping you identify the seeds of your voice, and honing that voice to resonate across a multitude of platforms.
Join Nikita Gill, an Irish-Indian poet with a world-wide fan-base (including over 700,000 Instagram followers) for two hours of writing, thinking and deep exploration that will challenge and support you to unleash a creative power you didn’t know you had within you.
The Masterclass will be delivered via Zoom webinar, so you can take the session at your own pace, without the pressure of having your video or camera on. Sessions are also recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you will have access to the recording for a month afterwards.
