An opening paragraph bristling with hooks. A first chapter that sets up the intriguing inciting incidents to follow so convincingly it’s impossible not to read on. An investable character arc. Propulsive poetic prose at sentence level that makes the reader’s eyes fizz down the page effortlessly. This is all before we come dialogue!

In fiction, there’s a lot at stake.

Looking at the work of writers such as Max Porter, Derek Owusu, Henry Hoke, Rebecca Watson and many many more, this one-day interactive webinar led by award-nominated author and Creative Writing lecturer Dr. Ashley Hickson-Lovence introduces innovative creative approaches that will encourage you to write stories with flair and without fear. This one-day offer will embolden you to push your creative boundaries and provide you with the practical tools needed to experiment more wildly with your words.

This day is suitable for all whether you are just setting off on your writing journey or whether you are further down the line with your work.
