Kirsten Norrie (MacGillivray)

MacGillivray is the Highland name of writer and artist Kirsten Norrie. She has published four books of poetry, The Last Wolf of Scotland (Pighog/Red Hen, 2013), The Nine of Diamonds: Surroial Mordantless (Bloodaxe Books, 2016), The Gaelic Garden of the Dead (Bloodaxe Books, 2019) and Ravage, An Astonishment of Fire (Bloodaxe Books, 2023).

As a poet, her work has been featured on BBC Radio 3 The Verb and Late Junction and appeared in publications such as Magma, ASLS New Writing Scotland, the Scotsman, the Guardian, the TLS and the Herald. Founder of The Oxford School of Poetry, she has taught at the universities of Oxford, Cheltenham and Gloucester, the Royal College of Art and Edinburgh College of Art.
