Residential Writing Week: Starting to Write
Begin the journey
Award-winning novelist Rowan Hisayo Buchanan will lead this masterclass on writing family relationships in fiction. You will explore examples from published work before delving into a series of writing exercises designed to build the relationship between two characters within a family. You will consider their individual personalities, the ways in which – like trees growing closely in a wood – they have shaped each other’s growth, and how such a relationship might become the food for plot.
This class is suitable for writers honing existing projects and, equally, for those in the early stages of developing their work.
The Masterclass will be delivered via Zoom webinar, so you can take the session at your own pace, without the pressure of having your video or camera on. Sessions are also recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you will have access to the recording for a month afterwards.
Online: £40
