Masterclass: Nature Writing
Writing the wild
Teaching creative writing can be such a rewarding experience, enabling young people to find a voice and express themselves in new and exciting ways. But how do you teach creative writing to young people? With Steve Voake, award-winning children’s author and experienced writing tutor, you’ll discover ways of inspiring young people to find and develop their ideas in both poetry and prose. You’ll learn how to help them see themselves as writers, to make creative writing accessible to those who are just beginning and, by experimenting with different approaches to writing, see how a few simple exercises can lead you to view your own writing from a new perspective. This masterclass is suitable for anyone interested in developing their teaching skills including primary and secondary school teachers, writers who want to help young people explore their own writing and anyone with an interest in teaching the craft of creative writing.
