Masterclass: Nature Writing
Writing the wild
Kirsty Logan is the writer of nine books – including a memoir about pregnancy and parenthood – and the mother of a toddler. She’s not going to tell you how to parent (she’s still trying to figure that out herself) but she can help if you want to write about your parenting experience. Perhaps you’ve long dreamed of writing, and your small human has derailed that slightly. Perhaps the experience of getting to know the world through a child’s eyes has sparked a new desire to create. Perhaps your children have long flown the nest, or it’s parenting from another perspective – perhaps even writing about your own parents – that you’re interested in. Whatever the case, and whether you’re writing fiction or non-fiction, Kirsty’s got you.
In this masterclass – recorded, so you can watch back at your own pace if bedtime interrupts proceedings – you’ll muster your quite possibly sleep-deprived senses and take some much-needed time to focus inwards. Kirsty will share with you some of the many and varied ways that writers have explored parenthood in memoir and fiction: the wonders and terrors, the bliss and bewilderment. Through prompts and encouragements, you’ll spark new ideas, dig deep into your experience, and get the balance right between staying true to yourself and connecting with a wide group of readers.
You’re a parent 24/7/365 – take these two hours for yourself.
The Masterclass will be delivered via Zoom webinar, so you can take the session at your own pace, without the pressure of having your video or camera on. Sessions are also recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you will have access to the recording for a month afterwards.
