How I Write: Emma Must
Q&A and Reading
If you’re writing any forms of poetry, fiction and non-fiction, and you’re looking for places to find new favourite writers as well as opportunities to submit your own work, join Tania Hershman, Arvon Writer-in-Residence and founder of the online short story hub ShortStops, for Arvon’s very first Lit Mag Salon. During this two-hour webinar you’ll learn all about literary magazines and journals: how their editors work, what they are looking for, and the steps you’ll need to take in order to give your work the best chance of appearing in print or online – or both.
Tania writes: ‘ShortStops was born to showcase all the incredibly vibrant short-story-related activity in the UK and Ireland, from online and print lit mags and live lit events to competitions and story collections. You might be surprised to learn that there are 481 magazines in the UK and Ireland that publish short stories, with more appearing all the time. During this Lit Mag Salon you’ll hear from the editors of three wonderful journals – Eimear Ryan of Banshee, Farhana Shaikh of Present Tense and Rosalind Reynolds-Grey of Ache, – talking about why they set up their magazines, what they publish (not just short stories) and how to submit to them.
This recording will be available to watch at your convenience. Please see the ‘Access’ tab for information on how to find it.
