Masterclass: Nature Writing
Writing the wild
As individual writers, or as part of groups and organisations, we are often called upon to seek funding for writing projects. While applying for funding can be rather daunting and time-consuming, there are approaches that can increase your chances of success. In this Arvon Masterclass, poet, writer and literature activist Jonathan Davidson – who is also the Founder and Chief Executive of Writing West Midlands – will begin with the first principles of applying for funding, including understanding what funders are after, and how to communicate complex ideas with clarity. Arts Council England’s Developing Your Creative Practice and National Lottery Project Grants will be particularly considered, although examples discussed will be of use with applications to any funder.
The Masterclass will be delivered via Zoom webinar, so you can take the session at your own pace, without the pressure of having your video or camera on. Sessions are also recorded so if you are unable to attend live, you will have access to the recording for a month afterwards.
Online: £40
Concessions: £20
As part of our effort to increase participation in the arts, half-price concessions are available for this course at checkout. There are a limited number of free subsidised places for those who cannot afford the concession price.
We are committed to making our Arvon at Home programme accessible to as many people as possible.
